In Zechariah 4:6, God speaks a timeless truth:
“Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts.
This message came to the prophet Zechariah as the people of Israel faced what seemed like an impossible task — rebuilding the temple after years of exile. The work was daunting, the resources limited, and the obstacles many. Yet God reminded them that His purposes are not accomplished through human strength alone, but through His Spirit working in and through His people.
At Aslan Health, we know this truth firsthand. Our mission — to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and demonstrate His love by providing affordable, quality healthcare to the underserved — is far beyond what we could accomplish in our own strength. We face daily challenges: limited resources, growing needs, and the complexity of serving those who have been overlooked by the healthcare system. But like Zerubbabel in Zechariah’s time, we are called to move forward in faith, knowing that God Himself will complete the work He has begun.
Small Beginnings, Great God
Zechariah 4:10 reminds us, “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”
When we opened our doors in August 2024, we started with just a small clinic, a few staff members, and a big vision. Since then, we have seen God’s hand provide in ways we never imagined — through donations, volunteers, answered prayers, and life-changing encounters with patients. What began as a step of obedience has become a growing ministry of healing and hope.
God’s Glory in Our Weakness
One of the most humbling realities of this work is that God does not need us to be flawless in order to accomplish His purposes. His glory is so great that it not only works through our strengths but also overcomes our weaknesses. Time and again, we have seen God bring good out of our shortcomings, redirect our missteps, and use even our failings to point others toward Him.
In the end, our desire is that no one would look at Aslan Health and say, “Look what they accomplished.” Instead, we pray that people would stand in awe and declare, “Look what God has accomplished — in spite of them!” The victories we experience are not a monument to our skill, but a testimony to His greatness.
God’s Power in Action
Every day at Aslan Health, we see reminders that the work we do is not sustained by clever planning or human effort alone. It’s God who:
- Opens doors for partnerships we never thought possible.
- Provides the financial resources right when we need them.
- Brings in patients who are not only in need of medical care, but also of spiritual encouragement.
- Gives our staff strength and compassion beyond their own abilities.
We truly believe that every patient encounter, every healing story, every provision is a testimony that this is God’s work — and He is the one making it possible.
Our Response: Faithful Obedience
The call of Zechariah 4 is not to sit back and watch, but to step forward in faithful obedience, trusting that God will accomplish what He has promised. For us, that means:
- Continuing to serve our neighbors with excellence and compassion.
- Praying for wisdom in every decision.
- Stewarding resources faithfully, knowing they ultimately belong to Him.
- Sharing the hope of Christ with everyone we meet.
A Call to Stand with Us
We invite you to join us in this mission — through prayer, volunteering, and financial support. As we keep our eyes fixed on Christ, we know that He will accomplish more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
Because in the end, this is not our clinic. It’s His work. And it will always be — “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts.
