Need Same-Day Medical Care in St. Cloud? Here Are Your Options
When you are sick or injured, deciding where to go can be confusing. Should you visit a primary care clinic, go to urgent care, or head directly to the emergency room?
The right choice depends on the seriousness of your symptoms, the services you need, and how quickly you need to be evaluated. If you are searching for a same-day clinic in St. Cloud, here is how the most common options compare.
Option 1: Aslan Health
Aslan Health provides affordable primary and same-day medical care for many common illnesses and health concerns. When appointments are available, we may be able to see you the same day. Please call 320-297-6800 to check availability before coming to the clinic.
All appointments are $75. Additional charges may apply for laboratory tests, medications, vaccines, or other services. We can provide an itemized receipt for HSA/FSA reimbursement or for submission to an insurance plan, but reimbursement is not guaranteed.
What can Aslan Health treat?
Depending on your symptoms and medical needs, our providers can evaluate and treat conditions such as:
- Colds, influenza, COVID-19, and other respiratory illnesses
- Sore throats and ear infections
- Sinus infections
- Bronchitis and mild breathing concerns
- Urinary tract infections
- Minor skin infections and rashes
- Allergies
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and other digestive concerns
- Minor cuts, burns, sprains, and uncomplicated injuries
- Sexually transmitted infections
- Medication concerns and prescription refills
- High blood pressure, diabetes, and other chronic conditions
- General health concerns that need timely evaluation
Aslan Health can also perform certain laboratory tests, EKGs, spirometry, and other services when medically appropriate.
Aslan Health does not offer X-rays
Aslan Health does not have X-ray equipment. If you may have a broken bone, pneumonia, or another condition that requires imaging, we can evaluate you and help identify an appropriate imaging location when that is medically reasonable.
However, if you already know that you need immediate X-rays or treatment for a significant injury, a traditional urgent care center may be the better first choice.
Aslan Health is also not an emergency department. We do not provide ambulance services, advanced trauma care, emergency surgery, CT scans, or hospital-level monitoring.
Option 2: Traditional Urgent Care
Urgent care centers are designed for illnesses and injuries that require prompt attention but are not immediately life-threatening.
An urgent care center may be the best choice when you need:
- X-rays for a possible fracture or significant injury
- Treatment for a deeper cut that may require stitches
- Evaluation of a more serious sprain or possible broken bone
- Care outside regular primary care hours
- Services or procedures not available at a smaller clinic
Urgent care centers often have more diagnostic equipment than a primary care clinic, but the cost may be higher. Your final bill can depend on the facility, tests, procedures, and insurance coverage.
If you are searching for walk-in medical care in St. Cloud, check the facility’s current hours and whether it requires an appointment before leaving home. “Walk-in” does not always mean that a provider can see you immediately.
Option 3: The Emergency Room
The emergency room is the correct choice for symptoms that may threaten your life, cause permanent harm, or require hospital-level testing and treatment.
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for symptoms such as:
- Chest pain, severe pressure, or possible heart attack
- Signs of a stroke, including facial drooping, weakness, confusion, or difficulty speaking
- Severe difficulty breathing
- Major trauma or uncontrolled bleeding
- Loss of consciousness
- A severe allergic reaction
- Seizures
- Sudden, severe abdominal pain
- Suicidal thoughts or an immediate mental health crisis
- A possible drug overdose
- Any condition that appears life-threatening
Do not delay emergency care because of concerns about cost. If you are uncertain whether symptoms could be life-threatening, call 911.
How the Options Compare
