More Than Just a Logo: The Meaning Behind the Lion and the Lamb at Aslan Health

At Aslan Health, our logo features two powerful and deeply symbolic figures: a lion and a lamb. While this image has led a few people to wonder if we’re a veterinary clinic, it actually represents something much more profound—our mission, our values, and the heart behind everything we do.

The lion and the lamb together point to the peace, healing, and restoration that come through Jesus Christ.

In Scripture, the lion is a symbol of strength, kingship, and divine authority. Revelation 5:5 refers to Jesus as “the Lion of the tribe of Judah”—a conquering King who brings victory and hope. The lamb, on the other hand, represents gentleness, sacrifice, and redemption. John 1:29 proclaims Jesus as “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.”

Together, these two images reflect a powerful truth: Jesus is both mighty and merciful. He is the King who reigns and the Savior who laid down His life. In Isaiah’s prophecy of a restored world, we read: “The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat… and a little child will lead them” (Isaiah 11:6). This vision of peace and wholeness is what we strive to reflect in every patient encounter.

Our name, Aslan, is also a reference to the Christ figure in C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia. In the stories, Aslan is a lion who is both fierce and tender—a beautiful picture of the nature of Christ. We chose this name and imagery intentionally, because we believe that true health is about more than just physical wellness. It’s about restoring the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—through compassionate, Christ-centered care.

So while our logo might look like something you’d see at a veterinary office, the lion and the lamb aren’t animals we treat—they are symbols of the Savior we follow.

At Aslan Health, we’re not a vet clinic—we’re a place of healing and hope for people, built on the foundation of faith, dignity, and love.
